This person will be responsible for owning both the buy and sales performance of assigned inventory categories. Scope of responsibilities includes purchased products for resale, select raw materials and packaging inputs, supplier relationships, product lifecycle decisions, and leadership of the product management team. Develop and manage a profitable, customer-relevant product assortment that supports the company's growth strategy, customer needs, and market positioning Own the commercial performance of inventory categories, including buy decisions, sell-through, margin, turns, lifecycle management, and inventory productivity Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of supplier agreements, purchasing programs, pricing structures, and supply commitments Manage competitive bid processes, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, while balancing cost, quality, service, innovation, inventory risk, and supplier reliability Lead product managers in building category plans that connect assortment strategy, sourcing decisions, supplier management, pricing support, inventory productivity and sales execution The Director of Merchandising and Procurement Should Have the
Following Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree 7+ years of experience managing product assortments, supplier relationships, purchasing programs, commercial negotiations, and inventory performance, preferably in the food or packaging industry Possess a strong "merchant mentality" that is intensely curious, commercially driven, customer-aware, in touch with global market dynamics, and able to identify where product, price, supplier, and inventory decisions can create profit opportunities Experience with MS Powerpoint, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and e-Sourcing techniques a plus Strong ability to communicate effectively
