Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead strategic sourcing and category management within indirect spend categories. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, this position is critical to enhancing supplier relationships and optimizing procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies that align with business objectives and enterprise goals.
- Lead sourcing initiatives to achieve cost efficiency, supplier innovation, and improved service performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships to drive compliance, performance, and long-term value.
- Enhance Spend Under Management by identifying opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
- Ensure adherence to contractual, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Mentor and guide procurement team members, supporting their growth and development.
- Contribute to the scalability and maturation of the procurement function across the organization.
- Analyze market trends and data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Support business growth by aligning procurement strategies with organizational priorities. Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or related functions.
- Strong expertise in managing indirect procurement categories and supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Proficient in analyzing data to inform procurement decisions and optimize processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring professionals.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in procurement activities.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
