Successful applicants will be employees of Raise Limited, working at ExxonMobil facilities with both ExxonMobil employees and other contractors. Overview The Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing spot equipment, materials, chemicals/catalysts, and service requirements across multiple business lines. This role involves managing requisitions, converting them into purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring efficient Procure-to-Pay (PtP) operations. The position requires extensive procurement experience and the ability to mentor junior buyers while supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. The role also supports the Deepwater and Wells Portfolio within EMTech and contributes to administrative, data, and contract-related activities. Responsibilities Process a daily queue of requisitions and convert them into purchase orders (POs). Source and collect vendor proposals as required. Conduct basic negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions. Manage PO lifecycle activities, including updates to delivery dates, pricing, and PO text. Resolve invoice discrepancies between purchase orders and goods receipts. Approve invoice payments, including additional freight costs not originally captured. Collaborate with strategic buyers on project, turnaround purchases, and bundling opportunities. Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices. Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior buyers. Support contract-related activities such as agreements, RFAs, and DocuSign processes. Maintain and manage procurement data, including reporting and data analysis. Utilize SharePoint and other systems for documentation and workflow improvements. Act as a liaison for GBS and support workspace initiatives (e.g., team events, engagement activities). Adapt to varying workloads by supporting administrative tasks and vendor management as needed.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or higher required.
Experience:
Significant experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a senior buyer capacity.
Core Competencies:
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams and multiple supervisors. Demonstrated initiative, prioritization, and ability to work independently. Flexibility to manage both strategic and administrative tasks.
Functional Skills:
Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (PtP) processes. Experience with contract development and contract management. Negotiation and influencing skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Relationship management and customer-focused mindset. Understanding of total cost of ownership and procurement controls.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Willingness to learn internal procurement systems (e.g., Exxon systems).
