Job Summary:
The Product Manager for e-bike and electronics reports to Senior Product Team Manager, but works closely with Road, Gravel, and MTB product managers in developing technology specific to the e-bike category. The Product Manager for Ebike will work on Shimano e-bike related products as well as manage partner integration with accessory brands across all cycling categories. As part of the Shimano North American product team, this role will require collaboration with OE manufacturing partners, aftermarket sales, as well as working directly with race teams, athletes, and Shimano s R&D riders. This position is based at Shimano s facility in Bellingham, WA.
Job Level:
Experienced Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Help define and set priorities for Shimano product selection, promotion, and direction.
OEM Support:
Serving as the main point of contact for all OE inquiries, working directly with customers to answer technical questions throughout the bike development process.
Product Updates:
Delivering timely information to key customers and ensuring the OEM sales team is equipped with the necessary updates for their client communications.
Internal & External Liaison:
Answering product-related questions from the SNA team and managing communications with our third-party partners in North America.
Technical Standards:
Collaborating with the Technical Service Manager to ensure demo and test bikes meet proper standards and reflect current industry trends.
Innovation & Strategy:
Working with the User Experience Manager to study emerging trends and identify specific areas for further research. Hosts visitors from SIC, demonstrating Shimano and competitor tech and market demand Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly Communication with Shimano North America and Shimano Japan product, R&D, and Planning teams Attends Shimano Product Camps, industry, media and consumer events pertinent to e-bike/ technology category Works with marketing to deliver a cohesive message about product spec, position in the market, and promotion plan Rides, tests, and uses every opportunity to collect market insight
Job Qualifications:
Active and passionate cyclist 5+ years of bicycle industry experience 5+ years of experience in product/brand management Understanding of bicycle OEM and OTC business models Deep understanding if bicycle components, particularly in modern e-bike market landscape Experience working across cultures (Japan/ EU preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Office including
Excel, PowerPoint, Word Education:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related fields
