Summit Truck Body has served the commercial truck and transportation industry in the Pacific Northwest for more than 35 years. We build and upfit dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated vans for commercial customers throughout the region. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing and sourcing strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, reduce supply chain risk, and drive measurable cost savings across the organization. This is a leadership role for a strategic thinker who can move beyond day-to-day purchasing activities and help position the company for long-term growth and operational excellence. What You'll Do Develop and execute procurement strategies that support company growth, profitability, and operational objectives. Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, negotiations, and performance management initiatives. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards. Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and long-term agreements. Monitor market conditions, material costs, and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities and challenges. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to support production requirements, new products, and capital projects. Utilize data, reporting, and analytics to evaluate supplier performance, purchasing effectiveness, and procurement opportunities. Develop procurement policies, procedures, and best practices that support scalable growth. Lead, develop, and mentor purchasing personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Drive procurement process improvements and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years of progressive responsibility in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership. Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and delivering measurable cost savings. Strong business, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience leading supplier development, risk management, and procurement improvement initiatives. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments. Experience working in manufacturing environments with inventory management, material planning, and production support responsibilities. Strong proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system, including purchasing, supplier management, reporting, and data analysis. Experience with MRP systems, inventory management, and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures. Lean Manufacturing experience preferred. What Sets You Apart You are proactive, not reactive.
