Pay :
$120,000-$125,000 base salary + 12% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) Location | Schedule Fully onsite, full-time, days About the Role As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you'll do meaningful work that makes a global impact by helping enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Customers around the world rely on our broad portfolio of life‑saving medicines, laboratory essentials, and next‑generation instruments. The Procurement Manager - GMP Manufacturing partners closely with business stakeholders and divisional leadership to develop and execute multi‑year procurement strategies that support manufacturing operations. This role is a key strategic partner to the Business Unit Operations Leader, driving procurement vision, execution, and implementation while optimizing quality, cycle time, technology, risk management, and total cost of ownership. Our Operations team leverages the PPI (Practical Process Improvement Business System) to continuously improve productivity and quality while delivering on our Mission. Key Responsibilities Establish and execute short‑ and long‑term divisional procurement goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures aligned with Group and Divisional leadership. Translate divisional business and procurement objectives into actionable targets for Category Management teams and monitor contributions. Deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments across delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth. Coordinate and implement long‑range procurement strategies with cross‑functional business partners across the Division. Partner with Category Managers, R D, and Engineering to drive annual value improvements and competitive advantage. Coordinate and support business initiatives and projects, including M&A integration activities. Provide input on make‑or‑buy decisions, manufacturing footprint strategies, supplier selection, supplier transitions, and product innovation projects; monitor execution and communicate results to senior leadership. Ensure alignment with Group and Divisional stakeholders on cross‑functional projects and initiatives. Serve as the divisional point of contact for Enterprise Procurement processes, including Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk, and Supplier Management. Collect supplier technical capability requirements for current and future product portfolios to support supplier scouting. Gather divisional business requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including GMP and cGMP expectations. Drive and track compliance for indirect materials. Apply a scouting mindset to influence R D and Commercial teams earlier in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, monitor lifecycle management (LCM) pipelines, and support product platforming. Consolidate, analyze, and report divisional procurement metrics for regular business reviews. Align procurement strategy with the Divisional Leadership Team and ensure measurable value contribution to division‑wide initiatives. Manage divisional input into Global and Group category strategies. Engage supplier leadership to support Category Management teams and achieve Thermo Fisher objectives related to quality, cost, innovation, growth, and compliance. Support the development and implementation of standardized processes, tools, technologies, and common ways of working across procurement. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree required MBA preferred Preferred fields of study include Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Business Logistics, or a related discipline Experience Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or sourcing management Proven experience with Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, third‑party partnerships, and outsourced development management Progressive career experience in manufacturing operations and procurement, including significant international exposure Strong background in procurement and sourcing within regulated manufacturing environments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High proficiency in core procurement and sourcing skills, including engineering‑related sourcing Strong influencing skills with the ability to understand and balance diverse stakeholder needs Demonstrated business acumen, team‑building capability, and cross‑functional leadership Results‑oriented, metrics‑driven leader with a continuous improvement mindset and root‑cause problem‑solving approach Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain processes Advanced analytical skills and process focus Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information confidently at all organizational levels Ability to empower global stakeholders to meet business objectives Demonstrated integrity, trustworthiness, and strong interpersonal leadership skills Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing external and internal environments Why Thermo Fisher Thermo Fisher Scientific provides global teams with the resources, tools, and support needed to achieve individual career goals while helping take science a step beyond.
