Job Summary Join our dynamic retail team as a Cashier, where you will be the friendly face and efficient operator at the checkout counter. As a vital link between the store and our valued customers, you will handle transactions accurately, promote products through upselling, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Your role is essential in driving sales, maintaining store standards, and delivering outstanding customer service. Duties Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process sales transactions quickly and accurately Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits Enforce phone etiquette protocols when interacting with customers over the phone or in person Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, inventory checks, and merchandising to ensure product availability Qualifications Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-first attitude are essential Strong communication skills with the ability to engage bilingual customers effectively Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately Proven experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and customer service excellence Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team Ability to stand for extended periods, move around the store comfortably, and work flexible hours as needed Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail math is advantageous but not mandatory Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering top-notch service while fostering a lively shopping atmosphere.
