The Department of Family and Community Services,Office of Children's Services (OCS) isrecruiting for full-time Social Services Program Coordinator located inAnchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be DoingThis position reviews statewide child welfare programs to ensure children's safety and the quality of services provided. It evaluates the work of social workers, children's services specialists, and supervisors for compliance with policy, best practices, and state and federal requirements.

The role also gathers input from community partners, including the judicial system, tribal organizations, service providers, caregivers, and program participants to identify systemic issues, recommend improvements, and provide technical support to strengthen program performance.

Planning and Evaluating:

Social Services:
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, practices, and current trends in social services used in the planning, design, implementation, and/or evaluation of programs that provide a broad range of social supports to individuals, families, and communities. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or professional level experience providing, developing, administrating, or managing social/health services or social/health service programs.
Special Note:
"Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. "Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. "Training" and "education" in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.
