Job Description
To organize and supervise a program that provides academic support and recreational learning opportunities for students and community members.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED required. 2. Bachelor's degree (Education or related field) preferred, Associate of Arts degree or 60 semester hours of college credit required. 3. Two years program development experience in the area of youth and family services preferred. 4. One year experience in working with school aged children preferred. 5. Ability to work with diverse populations. 6. Strong computer skills. 7. Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills. 8. Demonstrated commitment to work with community service programs and partners.
Duties:
1. Schedule and supervise after school and summer academic and enrichment activities. 2. Coordinate the use of building facilities when participants are on premises. 3. Act as a liaison between classroom teachers and after school staff so that there is a means of communication that will address logistical, student disciplinary, or academic concerns. 4. Implement a tracking system to collect academic records on all students enrolled in the program. 5. Assist in any required data collection and analyses for program evaluation. 6. Develop a calendar for after school and summer programs. 7. Submit program plans and preliminary budget/s for the LKSD grant writer. 8. Offer training and development for program staff. 9. Work with the school's steering committee, ASB, AOTE or other advising bodies on matters concerning the program. 10. Facilitate travel arrangements for staff to attend off-site in-services. 11. Order materials supplies and inventory for the program as outlines in the approved budget. 12. Other duties as assigned within grant parameters.
