POSITION SUMMARY

The Women's Center Program Director provides leadership and oversight for the daily operation of the Adult & Teen Challenge Alabama Women's residential recovery and Christian discipleship program. This position is responsible for helping create and maintain a Christ-centered, safe, structured, compassionate, and accountable environment in which women can experience spiritual growth, freedom from life-controlling problems, restoration of relationships, development of healthy life skills, and preparation for successful transition back into their families, churches, workplaces, and communities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP

Model a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate biblical character, integrity, humility, compassion, and accountability. Promote a Christ-centered culture throughout the Women's Center. Help students understand that lasting transformation involves more than abstinence from substances and destructive behaviors; it involves spiritual transformation, renewed thinking, healthy relationships, personal responsibility, and becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. Help staff approach discipline and accountability as opportunities for discipleship rather than simply rule enforcement, protecting the spiritual culture and identity of Adult & Teen Challenge Alabama. 2.

PROGRAM OVERSIGHT

Oversee the daily implementation of the Women's Center residential program. Establish schedules, curriculum, classes, chapel services, work assignments, recreation, mentoring, and ensure that other program activities are carried out consistently. Maintain appropriate structure, accountability, consistency, and order throughout the residential environment. Participate in student evaluations, phase advancement decisions, disciplinary decisions, restoration plans, and transition planning. Ensure program expectations are communicated clearly and administered fairly and consistently. Assist leadership in evaluating and improving program effectiveness. 3.

STAFF LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to assigned program staff. Help establish clear expectations for staff performance, communication, professionalism, boundaries, and ministry conduct. Conduct or participate in regular staff meetings. Provide ongoing coaching and development to help staff become effective disciplers and ministry leaders. Encourage healthy teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, and mutual respect among staff. Address staff performance or conduct concerns promptly and appropriately. Help maintain appropriate staff-to-student boundaries and ethical ministry practices. Participate in staff scheduling and coverage as assigned. 4.

SAFETY, STRUCTURE & CRISIS RESPONSE

Help maintain a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe residential environment. Ensure staff and students understand and follow safety procedures and program policies. Respond appropriately to behavioral incidents, conflicts, medical concerns, emergencies, relapse concerns, unauthorized departures, and other crisis situations. Immediately report serious incidents according to organizational policy. Maintain appropriate confidentiality while recognizing situations requiring leadership notification or mandatory reporting. Participate in emergency preparedness, drills, and safety procedures. 5.

DOCUMENTATION & ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure student records, progress notes, incident reports, evaluations, phase documentation, and other required program records are completed accurately and on time. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Review program documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assist with program reports, statistics, schedules, and administrative requirements. Communicate important information between shifts and departments. Hold leadership meetings and provide appropriate updates regarding program operations and student progress. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

- Required Demonstrated personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the Christian mission and values of Adult & Teen Challenge Alabama. Ability to provide leadership within a faith-based residential recovery and discipleship environment. Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain healthy professional and ministry boundaries. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during difficult or crisis situations. Willingness to work flexible hours when program needs require leadership involvement. Qualifications - Preferred Previous leadership experience in Adult & Teen Challenge or another residential recovery, discipleship, ministry, behavioral health, social services, or related environment. Experience working with women affected by substance use, trauma, family dysfunction, life-controlling problems, or significant life transitions. Experience supervising employees, volunteers, interns, or ministry teams. College education or ministry training in a related field is beneficial but may be substituted with significant relevant ministry and leadership experience.

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

The position may require: Extended periods of standing, walking, and interacting throughout a residential facility. Occasional lifting or movement of supplies and program materials. Participation in activities, meetings, chapel services, special events, and community functions. Flexibility to respond to urgent program situations outside normal working hours when necessary.
