GUIDE POSITION
Facilitator Genesis Alternative Education Program
REPORTS TO
Superintendent Deputy Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate Certification in Educational Administration preferred Minimum of three (3) years successful administrative experience preferred Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a classroom teacher Minimum Masters Degree Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Current/complete application on file
JOB GOAL
Support students in a nontraditional educational setting by fostering academic growth, social-emotional development and positive behavioral change leading to successful completion of the program with return to the base school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Facilitate/Oversee individualized and small-group instruction. 2. Build positive relationships with students and guardians to encourage engagement and trust. 3. Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills that are transferable to student success at their base school. 4. Manage behavioral challenges while maintaining a supportive and structured environment for learning. 5. Oversee the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) when applicable. 6. Collaborate with the base school regarding student academic progress, attendance, and behavioral concerns/improvements. 7. Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress. 8. Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment. 9. Facilitate short-term and long-range planning for productivity and efficiency of the program. 10. Evaluate personnel according to established procedures. 11. Collaborate with appropriate Central Office staff to interview and recommend personnel for the program. 12. Communicate expectations regarding student behavior to students and parents/guardians. 13. Establish with students, teachers, and parents/guardians clearly communicated procedures and expectations governing the alternative program. 14. Utilize both verbal and written communication effectively. 15. Collaborate with appropriate channels for resolving problems. 16. Demonstrate fair and equitable treatment of all school personnel, students, and parents/guardians. 17. Perform duties in a professional manner according to the Alabama Teacher Code of Ethics. 18. Participates in school, and system, and state professional development programs. 19. Performs any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent.
EVALUATION
Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
216 Days Appropriate placement on the established salary schedule
