About Alameda Family Services Alameda Family Services (AFS) is a progressive, non-profit agency that provides clinically sophisticated, comprehensive mental health and early childhood educational and family support services to individuals and families in the City and County of Alameda. Job Summary Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Child Development Services and with support from the Data Analyst, the Child Development Services (CDS) Assistant is responsible for collecting, recording, monitoring, and reporting staff qualification, professional growth, and services provided to the children enrolled in our prenatal, infant-toddler and preschool child development program options. The CDS Assistant will assist with processing and ordering classroom supplies and materials. The CDS assistant will also be responsible for recording and providing reports of parent participation and community engagement hours and donations that document earned non-federal share (in-kind) contributions. Responsibilities With support from the Director of Child Development Services and in coordination with the AFS-Human Resources Department, collect and maintain personnel records including documentation of qualifications, finger print clearance, and required training. Participate in interviews for open positions, provide assistance to selected candidates in submission or required documents, and provide support with the onboarding process. Conduct data entry activities related to maintenance and the accuracy of the personnel section of the ChildPlus on-line data system. Child Development Services Support program management in conducting and recording participation in agency and program-wide internal professional development and staff wellness activities. Assist with ensuring staff have completed and provided documentation of required training for their position, and conduct data entry of professional development activities. Provide support to staff regarding use of the Workforce Registry for recording professional development hours. Assist with determining appropriate staffing patterns, and facilitate coverage, including substitute placement to support required teacher to child ratios and food service. Child Development Services Conduct on-site visits to support the ongoing monitoring of required postings in accordance with Community Care Licensing requirements. Assist in ensuring that weekly lesson plans are completed including documentation of the individualization of classroom services. Assist with monitoring the completion of screenings and ongoing assessment in accordance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Assist with the collection and review of the documentation that records services provided at our child development centers and home base program options including but not limited to lesson plans, screening and ongoing assessments. Conduct data entry and conduct ongoing monitoring of child development activities recorded in data systems including but not necessarily limited to ChildPlus, Learning Genie. Collect and conduct data entry of parent and community engagement, and volunteerism that documents earned non-federal share contributions and in-kind donations. Classroom Environments Assist with conducting site-based environmental assessments, recording results, and documenting ongoing improvement efforts. Conduct inventory and assist in placing orders for supplies, materials, toys, furniture, and materials. Program and Agency Support and promote the agency and program mission and philosophy within the agency, program and community, including following the agency and program lines of communication Comply with Community Care Licensing, Child Adult Care Food Program, State of California Department of Education regulations and Head Start Program Performance Standards. Explain and clarify regulations, policies, procedures, and promote established goals and objectives. Discuss concerns, answer questions, and work to resolve conflicts in a positive manner to the benefit of the children, parents, staff, program and agency. Actively participate in program-wide activities, meetings, events, training, and other professional growth and development opportunities. Work with, contribute to, and serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team by encouraging and facilitating problem solving strategies; accepting supervision, and working closely with direct service staff, program management, agency administration, community partners, coaches and consultants to ensure high-quality services and implementation of best practices. Complete and submit time sheets, mileage reimbursement forms and requests for materials, equipment and supplies in a timely manner. Be flexible, organized and demonstrate strong time-management skills. Follow established confidentiality policies, procedures and mandated reporting protocols. Seek support as needed and accept guidance from coworkers, program management, program specialists, consultants and coaches. Support the professional development of other staff members by sharing expertise and knowledge of processes, procedures and practices that support quality, coordinated and responsive services for the children and families. Perform ad hoc duties and tasks as assigned. Pay:
$22.28 - $24.77 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
