GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking an individual who can communicate with interested applicants and collect personal information relevant to determining eligibility for services. You will address applicant inquiries and concerns. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your attention to detail and organizational abilities. You should also possess strong interpersonal skills and exemplify excellence in customer service. This role plays a critical function in our disaster response efforts, serving as the first point of contact for survivors and coordinating the intake of urgent requests for assistance.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Screen interested applicants, determine eservice needs (Mortgage Assistance, Home Repair, Home Ownership, Disaster Relief, etc.) and provide information and referral assistance to appropriate agencies and community programs to assist non-eligible individuals. Support Wildfire Manager by gathering, documenting, and tracking urgent requests related to natural disasters (e.g., wildfires, floods), ensuring timely hand off. Weekly check in meetings with Wildfire PM to ensure accountability and productivity Collect eligibility documentation from prospective participants as well as provide timely feedback to participants seeking grant information via email or phone. Effectively communicate and follow up with grant managers to assist in a timely application process. Schedule subcontractor/ habitat assessments , draft MOU, draft check request, coordinate calendar Participate in regular meetings, trainings, some evening/weekend events and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, and driving record check Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver's License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insuranc Must have a reliable internet connection Minimum 1-3 years of experience in customer service, intake coordination, case management, housing services, disaster recovery, nonprofit programs, or a related field Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Experience collecting, reviewing, and maintaining confidential documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database or case management systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings or events.

COMPENSATION
Pay Range:
$22.00 - $25.00/hr. Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. Offers are between the entry to mid-level range.
