This position works under the direction of the Program Supervisors and Programs Director and plays a key role in staff support, site oversight, program coordination, and student services. The Program Coordinator is responsible for visiting assigned sites, coaching Site Coordinators and staff, supporting daily program operations, and assisting with interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and evaluating team members. Responsibilities Oversee assigned school program sites Coordinate, organize, promote, implement, and evaluate assigned programs Assist with the implementation of program goals and objectives Participate in development and monitoring of annual program budgets Interview, recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate site staff Maintain, process, and report staff attendance and payroll records Provide coaching, guidance, and conflict resolution support to site staff Lead weekly meetings regarding site functions, changes, and announcements Provide one-on-one support to staff regarding daily activities and workplace issues Create curriculum frameworks, scope and sequence documents, and lesson plans Develop instructional materials, worksheets, activities, presentations, and assessments Ensure curriculum and lesson plans align with educational standards and grant requirements Monitor program compliance related to attendance, health, safety, and security Audit and maintain student attendance and enrollment records Investigate accidents, injuries, and student behavior concerns Communicate with parents, school administrators, teachers, and district staff Support community outreach efforts that promote the program Process student applications, create student files, and update attendance rosters Update fee ledgers and site budgets as needed Order supplies, equipment, and inventory for program activities and events Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations
Qualifications Education:
Minimum of 60 college units, or an Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field Bachelor's degree in education or related field strongly preferred Must provide transcripts or degree documentationExperience:
At least 4 years of experience working with children in an educational or organized setting At least 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role Volunteer experience working with children may be considered Skills and Knowledge Before and after school program practices and procedures District rules, policies, and regulations Curriculum-based standards Supervisory and hiring practices Grants administration and budgeting Program compliance requirements Health and safety standards Recordkeeping and evaluation systems Staff training and evaluation techniques Standard office software including word processing and spreadsheets Requirements Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to supervise, coach, and support staff Ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, and school personnel from diverse backgrounds Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment Must demonstrate patience, empathy, professionalism, and responsibility Working Conditions Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in classroom, office, and playground environments Position involves frequent interruptions and active movement throughout the day Must be able to lift, carry, push, or move 25 to 50 lbs.
