Program Coordinator provides leadership within the Club and plays a key role in delivering high-quality youth development experiences aligned with the Boys & Girls Clubs Formula for Impact with a focus on the Supporting Outdoor Adventures and Resilience (SOAR) initiative funded through the Youth Community Access (YCA) Grant. This position with the support of BGCNV leadership plans, facilitates and completes various field trips and experience that meet grant SOAR project outcomes and YCA grant deliverables. The Program Coordinator ensures the safety, engagement, and positive development of Club members by leading programs, guiding support staff and volunteers, and facilitating outdoor experiential learning opportunities. This position models the Club Experience by creating a welcoming environment where youth feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore leadership, healthy choices, and connection to nature.Essential Job Responsibilities:
Program Delivery & Youth Development Lead and facilitate SOAR outdoor enrichment activities, including field trips, camping, aquatic experiences, and outdoor leadership opportunities Supervise and actively engage youth, fostering a fun, inclusive, and emotionally safe environment Build positive relationships with youth, serving as a mentor and role model Support character development, academic success, healthy lifestyles, and youth leadership opportunities Track attendance, participation, and program data to support grant requirements Complete required documentation, reports, and program records accurately and on time Communicate effectively with families and promote SOAR program opportunities Support outreach efforts, storytelling (photos/success highlights), and community engagement Program Coordination, Safety & Operations Plan and coordinate SOAR field trips, including logistics, transportation, and partner/vendor collaboration Maintain active supervision of youth at all times, ensuring adherence to safety policies and risk management protocols Serve as an approved driver for transporting youth to program activities Ensure facilities, equipment, and materials are safe, clean, and well-maintained Support smooth daily operations in collaboration with the Site Director Administration, Team Leadership & Engagement Provide leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers; support training and team development under the direction of the Site Director Communicate effectively with families and promote program opportunities Support outreach efforts, storytelling (photos/success highlights), and community engagementOther Duties:
Adhere to all Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley policies and procedures. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Maintain required certifications, including First Aid & CPR. Wear appropriate Club staff uniform while on duty. Perform related duties as assigned by theSite Director or Administration Requirements:
First Aid & CPR certified. Pass TB test. Pass FBI/DOJ Live Scan and overall background check. Must be approved through insurance and policies as a driver. NCLB Compliant (Proof of 48 completed college units, copy of college degree or No Child Left Behind Certificate; we can assist in getting you the NCLB certificate). 1 to 2 years of experience in Recreation, Child Development or equivalent experience in related field a plus. Knowledge of youth development principles, education programs, expanded learning practices, mentoring, coaching, and positive behavior guidance a plus.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift program supplies. Ability to participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, gardening, and field trips. Willingness to work in varied environments and weather conditions. May require to ability to stand for long periods. May require the ability to walk/travel without a vehicle long distances (2-5 miles). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Disclaimer:
