Job Description

Job Summary This position is responsible for supervising the Domestic Violence Program, Underserved Program, Victim Witness Program, Rape Crisis Program, Child Advocacy Center, Child Abuse Prevention Program, and Transitional Housing. Duties Assists and receives directives from the immediate supervisor to manage the Domestic Violence, Underserved, Victim Witness, Transitional Housing, Child Advocacy Center, Child Abuse Prevention, and Rape Crisis Program. Responsible for ensuring that all program operations are in accordance with state and federal laws applicable to crime victim centers. Ensures that all assigned grant applications and reports are submitted in a timely manner. Delegates responsibilities and crisis line sheets as needed to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective delivery of victim services. Keeps accurate records of employee caseloads, and volunteer files. Develops and coordinates public relations efforts that include coalition-building and organizational collaboration with other community service providers and governmental partners.
Performs various administrative duties:
preparing reports, responding to information requests, attending meetings and workshops, staying informed of new developments, preparing, and reviewing purchase orders and check requests, and advising officials and management staff on relevant issues. Advocates for undocumented victims to reduce fear of accessing services. Participates in tasks force meetings to promote the department services. Authorizes housing assistance when needed. Monitors data of each program and makes suggestions for modifications and create forms when needed. Assists with funding, accreditation, and grant applications. Provides assistance with board agenda items. Provides day-to-day support to assigned staff members. Provides direct services and crisis intervention to clients/callers/walk-ins. Assists with requests for immediate housing assistance for victims. Assists with U-Visa and T-Visa request. Responds to emergency needs of the Martha Diaz Shelter and other offices. Ensures compliance with Violence Against Women's Act (VAWA) Conducts public presentations when requested. Collects data for reports. Participates in training for Victim Advocates and staff members. Provides short-term peer counseling to survivors and witnesses of crime, as well as to family and friends of those individuals. Responsible for referring individuals to appropriate community resources for additional assistance and counseling. Assists with conflict resolution. Skills Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Victimology, or a related field. Three years of experience working with grants in writing, collecting & reporting data, or carrying out objectives. Two years of experience in management. Have computer skills in MS Windows environment. Must include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Canva. Communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups in stressful situations. Work effectively under conditions of limited supervision, high stress and rapidly changing situations and circumstances. Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural / ethnic diversity of the service population. Organize and prioritize a variety of job duties and assignments. Supervise and perform evaluations of supervised staff. Read, write, and speak Spanish is required. Services for victims of crimes. Community resources and demographics of Madera County. Criminal justice system and family/civil law. Programs for marginalized populations. Victims' Rights (Marsy's law) and how to advocate to enforce those rights. Skills in public speaking, crisis intervention, and counseling techniques. Effectively communicates with various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Issues affecting victims and witnesses of crime. Trauma informed care.
Pay:
$26.38 - $32.14 per hour
