Teacher for Ivey Ranch Park Association's School-Age Program (Before/After School and school holidays) and Adult Day Program (curriculum 10am-3pm plus after hours care) - Full-time position
Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time Teacher position for our School-Age Program and Adult Day Program. Both programs are designed to work with individuals with special needs. Currently our participants range in age from 5-22 years old in the School-Age Program and 18-59 years old in the Adult Day Program. Applicant must be high energy, organized, be able to assist in lifting/wheelchair transfers, willing to feed, willing to assist participants in the restroom and change those who need assistance.
Requirements:
Applicant must have at least 12 units in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, Child Development, or Liberal Studies. Applicants must email a copy of their college transcripts reflecting the units stated above to prior to scheduling an interview. The transcripts can be an unofficial copy. Applicant must obtain or be currently certified in First Aid / CPR / AED for infants and adults. Applicant must provide TB test clearance. Applicant must have vaccine record showing MMR and up-to-date TDap Applicant must be able to pass a LiveScan background check. Applicant must be willing to do 8+ hours of continuing education per year.
Availability:
Applicant with scheduling flexibility desired. Position is for 32+ hours per week.
Days required:
Monday through Friday Our School-Age Program follows the Oceanside Unified School District calendar. Must be able to work on school-breaks (ex: spring break, thanksgiving break, winter break, etc.).
Wage:
$20-$25 per hour
Our Mission:
Ivey Ranch Park is dedicated to encourage the interaction of those of all ages, with and without disabilities, by providing educational and recreational activities. Since 1981 we have served children and adults with disabilities but will not exclude the able bodied, since integration, inclusion and interaction are important components of our program. Serving over 250 individuals a week, our essential goals are:

  • Self-respect and respect for others
  • Competence and self reliance Currently over two thirds of our clients here at Ivey Ranch Park have moderate to severe disabilities which include behavioral disorders, genetic disorders, and disabilities caused by accident or trauma.
School age children come for after school, summer and off-track care. The Center also operates an equestrian facility, in-home respite services, and a Community Garden.
