Essential Elements:
Print Purpose The job of Site Facilitator- After School Program is done for the purpose/s of providing site coordination, communications with school personnel, instructional leadership, supervision, and record keeping functions at a school site participating in an after school academic and enrichment program.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; controlling and motivating students; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.KNOWLEDGE
is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; age appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; academic, enrichment and recreational instructional strategies; and behavioral management strategies. ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: establishing and maintaining constructive relationships; communicating with diverse groups; adapting to changing work priorities; maintaining confidentiality; exhibiting tact and patience; working as part of a team; managing a group of 20 students without assistance; and working with constant interruptions.Responsibility Responsibilities include:
working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organization's services. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.Experience:
Job related experience is required.Education:
Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.Equivalency:
Incumbents in this classification must be compliant with the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) by meeting at least one of the following requirements: 1) pass the Paraprofessional Exam administered by the Shasta County Office of Educations; 2) possess an Associate's Degree or higher or 3) completion of 48 semester units of college level coursework from an accredited institution.Any combination equivalent to:
graduation from high school and sufficient education, training and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. Preferred qualifications include anA.A./A.S.
degree, at least two years of a recognized college or university coursework, enrollment in a teaching credential program, or at least three years' experience in education and supervision. The stated education and experience requirements are the preferred minimum qualifications for this job. However, relevant experience to substitute for the education requirement and relevant education, certificates and/or licenses to substitute for the experience requirement may be allowed.Required Testing:
