Role:

The Healing Programs Facilitator (HPF) is a member of The AAAWLC's Healing Department and is primarily responsible for facilitating and supporting the GLOW program. In addition to GLOW, the HPF will provide facilitation and program support for other initiatives within AAAWLC's Healing Department. Depending on organizational and community needs, this may include healing circles, restorative justice circles, workshops, support groups, community healing activities, youth and family programming, special events, and other healing-centered services. The position requires someone who can build authentic relationships, facilitate meaningful conversations, navigate group dynamics, and create environments where participants feel seen, heard, respected, supported, and accountable. Duties Facilitate group sessions using approved curriculum, session plans, activties, and program materials Create engaging and healing-centered experiences focused on confidence, self-worth, emotional wellness, healthy relationships, communication, leadership, identity, and personal development. Provide Individual and group mentorship to youth Facilitate restorative conversations when conflict, harm, or relationship challenges occur between participants. Conduct participant check-ins and identify when additional support or referrals may be needed. Support the planning, coordination, and facilitation of additional Healing Department programs and activities as assigned. Facilitate or co-facilitate healing circles, restorative circles, support groups, workshops, and community conversations. Maintain appropriate documentation for all assigned programs and activities. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with youth, adults, families, or community members in a community-based, school-based, nonprofit, behavioral health, social services, mentoring, or similar setting. At least 2 years of experience facilitating or co-facilitating groups, such as healing circles, support groups, youth groups, women's groups, workshops, restorative circles, or other group-based programming. Demonstrated experience working directly with middle and/or high school-aged youth. Experience providing mentorship, coaching, guidance, or other relationship-based support to young people. Experience supporting or leading restorative conversations, conflict resolution, healing circles, or other structured conversations addressing conflict, accountability, relationships, or harm. Ability to facilitate conversations involving sensitive topics such as emotional wellness, relationships, grief, trauma, identity, self-esteem, family challenges, conflict, and personal growth. Strong group facilitation, active listening, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to create welcoming and engaging environments while maintaining clear expectations, healthy boundaries, and appropriate confidentiality. Ability to effectively manage group dynamics, including participants who may be disengaged, experiencing heightened emotions, or navigating interpersonal conflict. Ability to approach participants with compassion while also promoting accountability, healthy communication, and personal growth. Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, coworkers, school personnel, community partners, and other stakeholders. Ability to complete required participant documentation, attendance records, session notes, incident reports, and other program documentation accurately and on time. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary Healing Department team and support multiple programs based on departmental needs. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that may include afternoons, evenings, occasional weekends, community events, and school-based programming.
