Aurora, CO Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $18 - $21 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Computer literacy Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Full Job Description Position Overview BethelCare is looking for a dedicated, organized, and compassionate Day Program Coordinator to join our team on a part-time, full-time, or contract basis. This position primarily supports individuals through Supported Community Connections (SCC) services, meaning staff work directly with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) out in the community rather than in a traditional office setting. The SCC program focuses on helping individuals build independence, social skills, communication, community integration, and daily living skills through meaningful community-based activities. Staff may support clients at places such as libraries, recreation centers, volunteer sites, parks, stores, restaurants, fitness centers, community events, and other approved locations throughout the community. This role requires someone who is flexible, energetic, patient, and passionate about helping individuals with disabilities live active and meaningful lives. Key Responsibilities Develop, plan, and coordinate daily community based activities and outings that promote: Socialization Recreation Independence Communication skills Community integration Life skills development Provide direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during community outings and activities. Supervise and ensure the safety, engagement, and well-being of clients at all times while in the community. Ensure services are delivered according to each individual's care plan, goals, and health/safety protocols. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including: Attendance records Progress notes Community activity logs Incident reports when applicable Communicate regularly with families, guardians, caregivers, case managers, and other professionals regarding client progress and needs. Transport clients safely to and from community activities, appointments, and program locations as needed. Assist clients with personal care, behavioral support, medication administration (if trained), and daily living needs when necessary. Support clients in developing appropriate social behaviors, communication skills, and positive community interactions. Help maintain compliance with Medicaid, state regulations, and BethelCare policies and procedures. Assist with staff coaching, training, and implementation of best practices related to IDD services and community safety. Qualifications Prior experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently in community settings. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. High School Diploma or GED required. QMAP and CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain before hire). Willingness to complete additional training related to: Intellectual and developmental disabilities Client rights Crisis intervention Safety procedures Community integration services Why Join Us?
