Full-time Job Description Position Summary:
Colorado State University Extension in Douglas County is hiring an Outreach Program Coordinator who can coordinate, promote, deliver, and evaluate non-credit programming. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Douglas County Extension Team, and their work will focus on engaging the Douglas County community in Extension programs. The right candidate will be able to contribute to team goals and be self-motivated to work independently. The program coordinator is a local representative of Colorado State University Extension and Douglas County and works under the supervision of the Douglas County Extension Director. The position also receives guidance, training, and support from the State 4-H Office. This individual will work regularly with extension faculty and staff across program and county lines, with program teams and the State 4-H office. The Program Coordinator has three areas of responsibility: 1) Coordinating, delivering, and evaluating 4-H school enrichment or after school programs including Embryology, STEM curricula, and National Western Stock Show programming. There is an opportunity for the incumbent to expand these offerings. 2) Leading outreach efforts within the community that result in increased enrollment in Extension programs and engagement in our services. 3) Providing support to extension specialists including in-office presence, communications, and event assistance. The primary office location for this position is in the Douglas County Extension Office in Castle Rock, Colorado. While this position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement, the individual in this position is expected to report for work at the Extension Office a minimum of three days per week to effectively carry out the duties of the position. The work schedule will vary, and frequent evening and weekend work will be necessary. Time can be flexed in order to maintain a 40-hour work week. This job requires regular travel within Douglas County and infrequent travel along the Front Range and other parts of the state. Provide leadership in the delivery of new 4-H school enrichment and outreach programs in family consumer sciences, agricultural literacy, and leadership, including training volunteers or teachers to deliver programming, providing content expertise, and/or delivering programs directly. Create partnerships with Douglas County School District and other community organizations to further the work of Extension. Provide oversight of program financial resources (internal and external). Work effectively as part of the Douglas County Extension team and succeed in independent work. Engage with and inform the public on Extension programs through community events via presentations, workshops, and outreach booths. Work with partners, planning committees, volunteers, and youth to ensure an appropriate and exemplary Extension presence and participation at the Douglas County Fair, the National Western Stock Show, the Colorado State Fair, and other state and local 4-H events. Develop strong working relationships and effective communications with local Extension staff, university staff, Extension and State 4-H Office staff, local schools, Douglas County government and departments, local foundations, and other youth-serving organizations to enhance funding and implementation of youth development and 4-H programming. As part of the 4-H team, the individual in this position will support county specialists with programming events to set up, tear down, and deliver programs.Conditions of Employment:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications:
Completed bachelor's degree. Conferred degree must have been conferred in education, animal sciences, agriculture, environmental science, natural science, youth development, family and consumer sciences, leadership, or a closely related field. Demonstrated initiative, commitment to teamwork, and the ability to communicate through teaching, public speaking/presentation, writing, and use of technology as demonstrated through application materials and experience. Demonstrated strong organizational skills that include managing multiple programs, scheduling effectively, and the timely submission of required reports and materials as demonstrated through application materials and experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching or Extension experience. Experience marketing, promoting, or creating public awareness of programs and opportunities including using social and mass media (e.g., TV, Internet, Facebook, newspaper, etc.). Experience working with others to create and/or implement guidelines, rules, and policies. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
