Position Summary:
  • The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) serves as the manager of the trauma performance improvement program.
The TPM maintains Trauma Administration's annual Trauma Performance Improvement Plan and oversight of quality indicators set by national and state entities, HCA CSG Trauma Services and HealthONE Swedish Medical Center. Activities include promoting high quality trauma care through a concurrent and retrospective quality program. Works closely with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director. Helps to guide outreach, injury prevention. and educational activities based on trauma center data.
  • SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Developing and maintaining an annual Trauma Performance Improvement Plan (TPIP) with approval of the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and Trauma Program Director (TPD) 2. Oversight, management, and reporting of trauma quality indicators such as audit filters, complications, American College of Surgeons, Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) indicators, HCA specified, and other metrics. 3. Serve as the Trauma Administration's liaison to the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP). 4. Problem solving and resolution of trauma PI events in real-time and retrospectively. Identify trends with clinical and operational processes. 5. Works with physicians, patients, staff, external agencies, and other organizations to address trauma quality, safety, and process issues. 6. Works with Trauma Nurse Coordinators (TNC) to organize concurrent PI being obtained by them. 7. Manage trauma specific performance improvement (Pl) committees. 8. Manage and foster the integration of trauma Pl with the hospital's quality program. 9. Prepare reports appropriate to audience utilizing multiple computer-based software and web-based applications. I0. Assuring loop closure and documentation of all identified Pl events. 11. Maintain a log/report/dashboard that monitors the status of performance improvement events.

Demonstrates proficiency in abstracting and collecting trauma case data and using the trauma database to report trauma case data. 13. Helps to guide and facilitate outreach, injury prevention, and educational activities based on trauma data. 14. Completes all mandatory education requirements of Swedish Medical Center, HCA Mountain Division, CSG Trauma Services, TQIP, Colorado Department of Public Health state trauma center regulations, and Trauma Administration. 15. Participates in the education and professional growth of Trauma Administration staffs. 16. Promotes teamwork and positive relationships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders 17. Exercises discretion in performance of duties. Adheres to HIPAA regulations. 18. Other duties as assigned by the department director.

Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure. TCRN, CEN, CCRN, or related topic certification preferred, not required
