SUMMARY:
Chief Academic Officer is responsible increasing student achievement for all students across the district through the comprehensive oversight and management of programs that support diverse student populations including, but not limited to, Curriculum Development, District Professional Learning, Grants Management, Wellness, Assessment, Multilingual Learners, Special Education, McKinney-Vento (homeless), Gifted and Talented, and Migrant students. This role involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs aimed at enhancing educational outcomes for all students. The CAO is tasked with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations while promoting inclusive practices and equitable access to resources and opportunities. The CAO collaborates with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to develop and deliver targeted professional development and training, aimed at improving instructional strategies and fostering a culturally responsive learning environment. Additionally, the CAO is responsible for data analysis and program evaluation to monitor student progress and effectiveness, continuously refining strategies to meet the evolving needs of the student population. They serve as a liaison between the superintendent, district staff, school administrators, teachers, staff, families, and community partners, ensuring comprehensive support systems are in place to maximize student success.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Masters Degree Required. Preferred Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Special Education or a related field. Documented evidence of improved student learning outcomes for all students. School based administration experience strongly preferred, TECHNICAL
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Candidates must demonstrate a track record of improving student achievement for all learners for a school building and/or district. Candidates must possess in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to Multilingual Learners, Special Education, McKinney-Vento, Gifted and Talented, and Migrant education programs. A strong understanding of inclusive education practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and strategies for closing achievement gaps is essential. Technical skills required for this role include proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. Familiarity and/or experience with Infinite Campus, Google other education programs, AI integration into the Pre-K
  • 12th setting.
Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills. The following are strongly preferred: School based leadership experience. Experience successfully leading school turnaround initiatives. Experience leading standards based project based learning. Experience designing and implementing CTE programs and college pathways. Experience across early childhood through high school. Experience in state and federal programs.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR CERTIFICATIONS
Principal or Administration License Valid Colorado driver's license
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE
The ability to use educational management software and student information systems, and effective communication and presentation skills. The candidate should be adept at managing budgets, grant writing, and program evaluation, with a strong ability to lead professional development initiatives.
