04/01/2026 Ansonia K-3 Summer School Coordinator Position Summary The K-3 Summer School Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and day-to-day administration of the Ansonia Public Schools K-3 Summer School Program. In addition to overseeing elementary summer instruction, this position includes oversight of the High School Online Credit Recovery Program. The Coordinator works collaboratively with district administrators, teachers, and families to ensure a safe, structured, and academically enriching summer experience for all students. Primary Duties and Responsibilities K-3 Summer School Program (Location - Prendergast School) Supervise and support instructional staff, paraprofessionals, and other program personnel throughout the summer session. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding program expectations, student progress, and any concerns. Monitor student attendance and maintain accurate enrollment records. Ensure a positive, safe, and structured learning environment consistent with district policies and expectations. Manage program materials, resources, and supplies within the allocated budget. Address and resolve day-to-day operational issues in a timely and professional manner. Collect and submit all required program data, reports, and documentation to district administration. Collect and sign timesheets. Work with various departments to ensure smooth operations, including transportation, Food Services, Facilities. Adjust scheduling, staffing, and facility arrangements, as needed throughout the program. Facilitate any professional development or orientation sessions for summer staff prior to the program start. High School Online Credit Recovery Program Monitor student participation, course completion rates, and academic performance through the online platform. Serve as the primary point of contact for high school students, families, and counselors regarding credit recovery enrollment and progress. Troubleshoot technical issues with the online platform and escalate to appropriate IT or vendor support as needed. Maintain accurate records of student participation and course completion, provide documentation to guidance secretary. Provide final reports to district administration. Ensure compliance with all district and state policies governing credit recovery and alternative course delivery. Qualifications and Requirements Holds or is eligible for Connecticut Administrator Certification (092 — Intermediate Administration or Supervision) — required. Valid Connecticut teaching certification in an appropriate subject area. Prior experience in an educational leadership, coordination, or administrative role preferred. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive working relationships with students, families, staff, and administrators. Proficiency with educational technology platforms and online learning management systems. Ability to problem-solve independently and exercise sound professional judgment. Commitment to the academic success and social-emotional well-being of all students. Must be available for the full duration of the summer program, including any pre-program orientation and post-program reporting requirements. Dates July 6-July 30, 8:00am-12:30pm (or until the last student arrives home); plus 4 hour PD prior. Compensation A stipend of $3,500 will be provided for the successful completion of all assigned duties for the duration of the summer program.
