Position Description Developmental Specialist II Department Family Infant Toddler Program Location Bethel Employment Duration 80 Full time Apply Now Developmental Specialist II Bethel​, Alaska We are working together to achieve excellent health. Come join us! The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon. Position Summary:
This position provides early intervention services to families of eligible children age 0-3 in the YK Delta. This position assists in evaluation, reporting and interventions for infants and toddlers in the region. This position administers eligibility testing, developmental assessments, report writing, development and implementation of the IFSP, and all transition services under the supervision of a DS III. This position organizes family contact, family follow up, play groups, other service involvement such as school special education teachers and Head Start educators. This position is a member of the ILP team and supports Napartet with value added ideas, patient centered excellence, and ILP standards of excellence. Other administrative tasks will be incorporated into daily the work flow. Travel Occasionally.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Special Education with licensure, enrolled in a Master's degree program in Early Childhood Special Education with 6 Child development credits completed and 3 units in Child assessment completed.
Minimum Experience:
1 years of experience working in a field of Early childhood or preschool activity, teaching birth to three. Knowledge of typical and non-typical child development. Experience with Special Needs children highly desired.
Licensing/Certification:
Type A certification or applicable license. Infant CPR. Meet criteria for registration as SEED level 9. Eligible for an NPI number and able to bill Medicaid for TCM.
Equipment:
SEED screening tool. IDA2, ELAP or other evaluation tools as appropriate. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Training in Neuro developmental treatment, Applied Behavior Analysis, Positive Behavioral Supports, Language Instruction, specialized strategies and trainings, leading play groups. Training in Infant Mental Health and Trauma based care desired.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise a Developmental Specialist I.
