$33.36•$43.36 / hour Summary The Medication Safety and Quality Improvement Program Specialist provides analytical, investigative, and operational support to the System Director Medication Safety and Medication Safety and Quality Improvement Program. This role focuses on medication safety data analysis, safety event investigations, performance monitoring, and development of high-quality executive reports. The Specialist contributes to system-wide improvement initiatives by translating data and investigation findings into actionable insights while partnering closely with clinical, patient safety, quality, professional practice evaluation, and analytics teams.
Requirements Education:
Bachelors degree in Clinical, Quality, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or related field required. Associates degree plus five (5) years of related job or industry experience or Completion of ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program plus seven (7) years of related job or industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year in medication safety, patient safety, quality improvement, or healthcare data analysis required. Three to five (35) years experience preferred. Experience working with safety event reporting systems and healthcare data. Experience at a healthcare setting preferred. Clinical background in Pharmacy, Nursing, or related discipline preferred.
Certification:
Minimum of one of the following certifications required or must obtain within 24 months of hire: Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) Quality or Lean certification (Green Belt preferred) ASHP, ISMP, or quality-related certification Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required only if educational requirement met is ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program completion plus seven (7) years of experience.
License:
As applicable to clinical discipline only Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with Florida Department of Health and CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) with national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
