Pharmcare RX is seeking a dependable, professional, and patient-focused PrEP Program Coordinator / Phlebotomist to support our growing PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) program. This position combines phlebotomy, patient coordination, education, follow-up, and administrative support . This role involves providing phlebotomy services to patients participating in HIV prevention and treatment-related services, including patients who are HIV-positive . Applicants must be comfortable performing blood draws for HIV-positive patients while consistently following standard precautions, bloodborne pathogen protocols, infection-control procedures, and OSHA safety requirements. Perform venipuncture and blood collection for patients, including HIV-positive patients . Properly collect, label, handle, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing. Consistently follow standard precautions and bloodborne pathogen/infection-control procedures. Coordinate patients participating in the PrEP program. Assist with new patient intake and enrollment. Educate patients regarding the PrEP program and reinforce provider instructions. Coordinate required laboratory testing and follow-up appointments. Track patients to ensure required labs and follow-ups are completed. Communicate with patients regarding appointments, testing, refills, and program requirements. Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and pharmacy coordination as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Communicate with providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Maintain appropriate documentation related to the PrEP program. Help identify and resolve barriers that may prevent patients from remaining engaged in care. Provide respectful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental service to all patients. Perform additional duties related to the PrEP program as assigned. Qualifications Phlebotomy certification required. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred. Must be comfortable performing blood draws on HIV-positive patients. Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen precautions and infection-control procedures. Experience in a medical office, pharmacy, primary care, infectious disease, sexual health, HIV prevention, or similar healthcare environment preferred. Knowledge of PrEP/HIV prevention is strongly preferred; training may be provided to the right candidate. Strong communication and patient-service skills. Comfortable discussing sensitive health topics professionally and confidentially. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage multiple patients/tasks. Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
