Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The School Age Program Manager oversees the development and operations of the overall school age program at each designated site, ensuring the program meets its intended goals. Responsible for day-to-day general administration of the program and ensuring that sites meet all YMCA, state and county licensing requirements. This position works with their supervisor to provide direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administers, leads, and manages the total operation of school-age out of school programs at designated sites, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program; securing, scheduling, and maintaining the needed facilities; creating and scheduling the activities or events; assuring staffing coverage, and maintaining programs records or files. Ensures program services meet community needs and quality programming requirements, and to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate; ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Ensure site meets all licensing requirements with DCF, ELC, and any other contracted entities. Responsible for monitoring collection of fees and working with Site Supervisors to ensure all programs have zero outstanding balances. Responsible for program plans and records to ensure consistency with evidence-based best practices and policies are followed. This includes oversight with ensuring accurate records of each employee and volunteer which includes the responsibility for maintaining all electronic records in accordance with YMCA of Collier County policies and procedures. Understand, implement, enter, assist with, and monitor the budget. Communicate variances and exercise necessary expense controls. Responsible for effectively handling all emergency incidents and submitting proper documentation. Must assist with grant reporting, finding grants for programs, and ensuring all grant requirements are met. Responsible for working with Site Supervisors to complete staff scheduling daily, ensuring all groups at all locations are covered and in compliance with mandated ratios as well as knowledge of program contracts or other requirements that are required to be met. Must be able to fill in as a sub at any location if appropriate coverage is not met. Nurture children by designing plans, curriculum themes, and activities that include purposeful programming that develops social-emotional skills, fosters achievement, supports academic growth, and provides enrichment. Engage in and support association programs and activities. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success. Maintains staff schedules and evaluates staff performance. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and caregivers, and community organizations (e.g., state child care licensing agency, school administration) to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within areas of responsibility. Organizes or participates in Y activities, such as committees, special events, and fundraising. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. One to two years related experience (e.g., supervisor or coordinator of child care programs) preferred. Director's Credentials required. Minimum age of 25. Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Must be able to meet the Association's background screening requirements.Certificates/Licenses:
Must have or be enrolled in state mandated training within 30 days of employment. Training must be complete within the first 60 days of employment. Florida Director Credential preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid required within the first 90 days of employment. Must meet YMCA driving criteria.Skills:
Must be able to supervise, coach and manage staff. Must be able to supervise and instruct large groups of children. Knowledge of sports and children's programming preferred. Must be extremely organized, task oriented, flexible, able to work under pressure, make assigned deadlines, and able to communicate effectively. Must be knowledgeable in YMCA software programs, and able to utilize the Google Drive. Onsite attendance is required for this position.
