Job Description

This position is responsible for: Assist the Corps Officers and other staff responsible for Corps programming. Perform functions to include assistance to the needs of various programs, Sunday School and meeting. Provide assistance to various projects and programs. Conduct telephone communication to people as needed. Provide transportation to Church and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Set an example in the Corps by being a Salvationist in good standing and participating on a regular basis in Corps programs. Assist with planning, developing, preparing and leading specific youth ministries programs; lead or assist with regular meetings for Corps Cadets, youth programs, Adventure Corps, Corps Cadets, Sunbeams, etc. Prepare and coordinate or assist with production of TSA and Christian program materials and newsletters. Drive Salvation Army vehicle and transport Corps members to/from Corps programs; operate vehicles in compliance with established policies and procedures; ensure vehicles are properly serviced, maintained, and repaired. Participate in Community Care program by visiting Corps members and the general public who are sick or elderly and in need of special attention.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work may be performed in a warehouse, outdoor, or other program environment with exposure to dirt, dust and weather.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D., and Two (2) years participating in Corps Programs, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
