Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience in program management. 7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports. Experience leading technical programs in data centers or networking technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects. 10 years of experience in a formal technical program management role. 10 years of experience working in a technological field with rapid rates of technology change. 10 years of experience demonstrating capabilities to influence across a broad, cross-functional organization. Familiarity with network planning and engineering, including data center network engineering in complex environments. Strong knowledge of qualifications of network deployments, optical systems, and machine learning infrastructure. About the job The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google's technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google's global fleet of data centers running smoothly and efficiently. Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a member of Fleet Management at Google, you will develop relationships, both internally and externally, and connect with internal customers and partner teams to develop an understanding of their business requirements and goals. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Site Reliability Engineering, Third-Party Data Centers) on network architecture and provide valuable feedback on the physical data center environment. Be a globally recognized technical leader and subject matter expert on data center networking infrastructure with knowledge of data center processes, infrastructure, design, construction, and safety. Develop a unified global network program process and prioritization to create agility to accommodate shift-left priority to enable an engaged advantage for Google. Ensure GSO is an asset across all Google-required network infrastructure, focusing on network capacity in support of the end customer. Enable network capability and acceleration in support of ML (Net GT, MLNDA, Vermilion, etc.) and next gen network deployment and maintenance.
