Job Description
Job Description The Engagement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the planning, development, implementation, and promotion of departmental programs and events, including the coordination of related marketing and outreach strategies. This role serves as a liaison to staff by providing guidance, assistance, coordination, and oversight to support departmental operations and initiatives. Essential Duties Developing content (promotional materials and publications, etc.), digital assets, and presentations; managing communications; and supporting departmental operations to include marketing, outreach, and public education initiatives Developing and maintaining internal documents such as forms, handbooks, manuals, and reports, to ensure consistency, accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with organizational standards Gathering, organizing, and distributing outreach materials Developing and delivering community education, outreach, and training programs to promote departmental services, resources, and initiatives Planning, coordinating, and supporting departmental programs, events, and public functions, including logistics, on-site setup, and event execution Serving as a lead worker by assigning and monitoring work, providing guidance, and assisting with day-to-day workflow coordination Public Speaking Duties Represents Gwinnett County at outreach events, and community functions by communicating departmental information, responding to questions, and engaging with diverse audiences. Delivers informational briefings to internal audiences to promote awareness of departmental programs, services, and initiatives. Other Job Requirements/Information This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Grade The grade for this position is B25(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in marketing or a related field Three years experience developing and publicizing community programs; An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
