Job Description

Program Coordinator 28061 Fairground Rd, Adel, IA 50003 $26 an hour - Full-time $26 an hour - Full-time Overview The Dallas County Extension Program Coordinator provides leadership for county program implementation to address identified programming initiative priorities. The Program Coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Program Specialists and community partners to secure resources necessary to deliver high-quality educational programming. This position requires enthusiasm, initiative, adaptability to change, flexibility with a varying workload, interest in self-improvement, punctuality, efficiency, and a strong commitment to confidentiality. The Program Coordinator works collaboratively as part of a team with other office staff members and reports directly to the Regional Director. The position includes occasional physical tasks associated with carrying out the Extension mission, including lifting and transporting materials. Responsibilities Work with the local Extension Council and Regional Director to develop long-term goals and strategies that support county and regional programming priorities. Plan, coordinate, and implement educational programming in collaboration with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Program Specialists and community partners. Provide direct instruction in areas of programming expertise. Provide leadership and instruction for existing youth programs, including Clover Kids, and school and library enrichment education. Identify innovative approaches to reach under-served and under-represented audiences. Maintain positive and professional working relationships with staff members, clients, volunteers, and community organizations. Secure resources to support identified county programming priorities. Prepare and submit a monthly written summary report of county projects and outcomes to the Extension Council. Provide support as needed for county fair preparation and participation. Requirements High School Diploma Some secondary education or 2+ years relevant experience Experience presenting educational content to groups of varying ages (youth - adults) Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and take personal responsibility in a team environment Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to successfully pass a background screening Availability to work evenings and weekends as required Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds Equal Opportunity Statement This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
