2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month 5-9 pm, some nights and weekends and other hours for prepping, planning and documentation About Foundation 2 Crisis Services Foundation 2 Crisis Services is a mission-driven, non-profit organization that provides critical crisis intervention and prevention services across Iowa. We operate a 24/7 crisis center, including phone, text, and chat services. We also operate an emergency youth shelter, mental health support groups, community-based crisis programs, violence prevention, training, and more. We have been saving lives for over 50 years. Join our team today! Overview of the role Facilitate lessons, events or arrange guest speakers around life skills, relationship buildings, connections to resources and give youth a voice in advocacy. Monitors and reports on client progress through contact notes, billing and other documentation requirements for client files. Establish productive relationships with external people and organizations to build social capital for the youth by gaining connections. Facilitate, plan and organize group activities (i.e. Future Fest, mini camps, etc.) for youth to participate in. Provides community education and speaking engagements. Required to work the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from approximately 5-9 pm, some nights and weekends to accommodate 1:1 supervision, planning/prepping and group activities/events. This position is up to 10 hours weekly. Benefits

  • Associate degree and one (1) year of human service experience.
  • Comfort using basic computer software.
  • Basic typing and data entry skills.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
  • Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
  • Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
  • Live within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience working with and compassion for at-risk youth preferred.
  • Education or training in trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Experience in strengths-based practices preferred.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate emotional support to people in crisis preferred.
  • Experience working and interacting with young people how have been or are in the foster care system preferred.
