This position leads the implementation of the Thrive Iowa Initiative in Pottawattamie County, bringing together community partners, service providers, businesses, faith leaders, and families to improve outcomes and create pathways to long-term stability. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and energized by community engagement. This role combines program leadership, coalition building, data-driven decision-making, and direct service support to help families thrive. About Firefly Since 1991, Firefly has been dedicated to strengthening children and families through early childhood education, public health, and maternal health services. Position Summary The Thrive Program Coordinator serves as the local leader of the Thrive Iowa Initiative, ensuring that community members, alliance partners, and participating families are connected, supported, and equipped for success. The coordinator oversees program implementation, supervises Navigators, facilitates community partnerships, and promotes collaborative efforts that improve family well-being across multiple social determinants of health. This position supervises two team members and works closely with Firefly leadership, Restore Hope, community stakeholders, and state partners. Key Responsibilities Community Leadership & Partnership Development Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, businesses, faith communities, and Thrive Iowa Alliance partners. Facilitate and lead monthly Community Alliance meetings. Promote engagement and collaboration among stakeholders. Serve as a local expert on the Restore Hope model and Thrive Iowa framework. Support alliance partners in implementing program strategies and achieving shared goals. Program Coordination & Oversight Provide reflective supervision, coaching, and support to Navigators. Recruit, onboard, and train Navigators with support from Restore Hope. Serve as a Navigator when needed to ensure continuity of services. Ensure fidelity to the HopeHub Case Management System and Thrive Iowa model. Support TANF eligibility processes and required documentation. Data, Reporting & Compliance Collect, analyze, and present community-wide data to stakeholders. Prepare reports, updates, and documentation for grant requirements and program publications. Monitor productivity, documentation standards, and program outcomes. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, COPPA, and confidentiality requirements. Collaboration & Professional Development Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Thrive Iowa meetings and trainings. Attend technical assistance opportunities provided by Firefly and Restore Hope. Participate in statewide Thrive Iowa initiatives and learning opportunities. Support local alliance communications and social media activities. Family Support & Community Impact Provide culturally responsive services to diverse families and communities. Collaboratively support families toward greater stability and success across the 13 Social Determinants of Health. Foster welcoming, inclusive environments for participants and community partners. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Counseling, Social Services, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in social services, community development, case management, or program leadership. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Knowledge of community resources and social service systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience presenting to groups and facilitating meetings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems. Ability to pass required background checks, pre-employment physical, TB screening, and other required screenings. Preferred Fluency in Spanish. CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with coalition-based initiatives or community partnerships. Experience supervising staff and managing community-based programs. The role may involve managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Work Environment This is an onsite position based in Pottawattamie County and is not eligible for remote work.
