Violence and aggression are learned behaviors and Thrive Community Services believes those behaviors can be unlearned. our domestic violence treatment programs help men and women learn to handle stressful situations without the use of physical or emotional abuse. This position conducts or co-facilitates offender group counseling, education, and related interventions utilizing established curriculum. Services are provided through in-person, telehealth, and blended groups. Responsibilities Provide group counseling, intervention, education, and community resources to clients utilizing approved program curriculum and/or modalities. Become or maintain certification to provider Moral Reconation Therapy and Another Way Choosing to Change Curriculum. Obtain Trainee and Direct Service Provider status through the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance (obtained during employment). Comply with and adhere to all regulatory requirements and domestic violence policies and procedures as documented by the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance, Minimum Standards for Domestic Violence Offender Intervention Programs. Contribute to developing an ongoing resource database and networking with community partners to build relationships while representing Thrive Community Services. Maintain all client documentation and release for billing in the electronic record within established time frame. Receive payments and provide receipts to clients. Send referral sources appropriate paperwork regarding client status within the required time frame. Knowledge and experience in offender domestic violence treatment and group dynamics and process. Understand the complex, dynamic, and intergenerational nature of domestic violence. Knowledge of current evidence inclusive of research and related literature. Knowledge of the judicial system and state and federal laws regarding domestic violence; the protection order process as well as how the system responds when orders have been violated; the legal consequences of failure by the offender to complete mandated intervention. Demonstrate specific knowledge of their legal and ethical responsibilities to protect victims and potential victims and to report child abuse.
