ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for one part-time instructor and coordinator in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program within the Health Sciences and Homeland Security division.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the successful applicant will serve as an instructor and program coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. As coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for the organization, administration, review, development, and overall effectiveness of the program, to include staffing, quality assessment, accreditation, budget, admission policies and more. As an instructor, the incumbent will develop, teach and maintain courses in the program, in both traditional and online environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare professional field; Master's degree in related field preferred. Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and licensed/eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) DMS certified. Clinical practice in sonography for a minimum of 5 years of experience. Shall be qualified through education and/or experience (within previous 5 years) to assure proficiency in, but not limited to, the following areas: curriculum design instructional methodology testing and evaluation Background in administrative activities including staffing, long-range planning, quality assessment/performance improvement, and evaluation of staff. Experience in accreditation activities preferred. Shall meet the minimum standards of instruction established by the Administration and the Board of Trustees for any assigned courses. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and internet required. SALARY Salary varies based on education level and number of units taught.

WORK LOCATION
Belleville Campus with district-wide responsibilities. Driving may be required to other campus locations and sites throughout the metropolitan area.
