Extra Duty/Hourly PositionQUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience or Training Valid Illinois Professional Educator License Desired Experience or Training Experience supervising credit recovery, summer school and/or after-school tutoring programs Experience tutoring students in a one-on-one or small group setting General Administrative Endorsement Schedule Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM- 5:30 PM (or as determined by the building principal)
Note:
Shifts may be shared among facilitators. Position Goals To ensure the successful implementation of the Credit Recovery Program by coordinating staffing and logistics, enrolling students, supporting instructional staff, and maintaining accurate records—ultimately helping students recover academic credits and stay on track for graduation.Position Responsibilities :
Provide oversight of the Credit Recovery Program, including: Coordinating classroom/facility scheduling Ensuring coverage by approved credit recovery instructors Arranging for substitutes as needed Enroll students into credit recovery courses selected by their school counselor Serve as the main point of contact for student and staff issues related to the credit recovery system Support credit recovery instructors in monitoring student progress and collaborating with counselors and classroom teachers Maintain accurate records and data related to student participation and program effectiveness Perform additional duties as assigned by the Building Principal Attend mandatory (paid) training sessions, unless previously trained in Edgenuity Comply with all District policies and procedures related to online coursework Work Environment & Expectations Work is performed in a typical school classroom or designated tutoring space. Tutors are expected to maintain a professional, student-focused atmosphere and adhere to all District policies regarding confidentiality, conduct, and instructional integrity. Physical and Mental Demands Must be able to move between classrooms or tutoring locations. Requires the ability to engage in prolonged periods of concentration, interact effectively with students and staff, and manage multiple tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws. This hourly position is a non-tenure, extra-duty assignment contingent upon sufficient student enrollment, program approval, and available funding. It is not subject to continued renewal and may be discontinued at the district's discretion. This position is exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Stipends are not calculated based on hours worked and are considered payment for duties performed outside the regular instructional day. Subject to satisfactory criminal background clearance and drug screening as required by Illinois School Code and District policy. This is an at-will, extra-duty appointment and may be discontinued at the District's discretion.Equal Opportunity Statement:
