Job Description

HELP BREAK THE CYCLE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Guardian Angel Community Services is seeking a passionate and skilled Group Facilitator to support our Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP). This role works directly with individuals referred through the court system who are seeking to understand and change abusive behaviors. Through structured group discussions and accountability-focused education, the facilitator helps participants develop healthier relationship skills and interrupt patterns of violence. BASIC FUNCTION
The Group Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting Guardian Angel Community Services' mission to build safer families and communities. This position provides intervention services to individuals participating in the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP), many of whom are referred throughthe court system. Through structured group discussions, education, and accountability-focused interventions, the Group Facilitator helps participants examine the impact of their behavior, develop healthier relationship skills, and interrupt patterns of violence. This position requires strong group facilitation skills, the ability to manage challenging conversations, and a commitment to promoting behavioral change and personal accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitate and Co-facilitate Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) groups using the designated curriculum and evidence-informed intervention strategies. 2. Facilitate intake assessments for individuals referred to the PAIP program using designated screening and assessment tools. 3. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client participation, payments, assessments, and case notes in accordance with agency policy and contractual requirements. 4. Promote participant accountability by guiding structured group discussions related to domestic violence, power and control, communication, emotional regulation, and respectful relationships. 5. Maintain a safe and structured group environment while managing challenging group dynamics. 6. Represent Guardian Angel Community Services and the PAIP program within the community and with professional partners as directed, increasing awareness and outreach for the program. 7. Submit all reports, both oral and written, in an accurate and timely manner as required by GACS policies and program funding requirements. 8. Communicate concerns, participant issues, or program-related challenges to the PAIP Program Coordinator in a timely manner. 9. Collaborate with probation officers, court personnel, and community partner agencies as appropriate to support participant accountability and program effectiveness. 10. Assist GACS administration in any investigation related to conduct that may be illegal, unethical, or inconsistent with agency policies. 11. Participate in Domestic Violence Court proceedings as assigned, which may include observing court sessions, communicating with court personnel, supporting program coordination with probation or judicial partners, and representing the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) in matters related to participant compliance and program participation. 12. Perform other duties as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Attend staff meetings, agency meetings, and professional trainings as assigned. 2. Participate in program development, staff discussions, and professional learning opportunities related to violence prevention and behavioral change.
QUALIFICATION
1. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field OR three (3) years of experience working in social services, counseling, education, or related human service fields. 2. Demonstrated interest in violence prevention, behavioral change, and promoting healthy relationships. 3. Forty (40) hours of ICDVP-approved domestic violence training (may be completed after hire if not already obtained). 4. Twenty (20) hours of Partner Abuse Intervention Program training (may be completed after hire if not already obtained). 5. Experience facilitating groups or working with justice-involved populations preferred. 6. Bilingual Spanish/English skills strongly preferred. 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 8. Ability to manage group dynamics and facilitate discussions around difficult topics such as accountability, power, and control. 9. Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural, socioeconomic, and personal characteristics of the populations served. 10. Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate sound professional judgment.11. Strong computer and documentation skills. 12. Ability to work flexible hours, including evening group sessions. 13. Valid Illinois driver's license and proof of automobile insurance coverage.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
