Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Injury Prevention Specialist supports the mission and regulatory requirements of the trauma program by leading a comprehensive, data-driven injury prevention initiative focused on reducing injury risk and improving safety outcomes. The position is responsible for identifying injury trends through trauma registry data and community health assessments, prioritizing injury prevention needs, and developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based injury prevention interventions targeted to identified at-risk populations. The position collaborates with trauma program leadership, trauma registry staff, performance improvement teams, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure prevention strategies address identified injury patterns and priority populations. The position integrates injury prevention efforts into quality improvement activities, supports community outreach and education, and contributes to ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Licensure/ Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification Other Skills/ Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in social work or nursing
Experience:
