Full Job Description Description:
Rate $21.00 ASSIST
IN THE HOLISTIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF RESIDENTS
Communicate with the Program Supervisor regarding resident service assignments and responsibilities. Model for and help residents to grow in practicing our Four Life Changing Practices. Track resident movement in and out of the facility and monitor in-house resident visitations. Help residents to resolve conflicts and become solution-oriented with the problems they experience.
UPHOLD A STANDARD OF CHRISTLIKENESS AND THAT ALIGNS WITH PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
Look for opportunities to make referrals to the appropriate staff for follow-up counseling. Be vigilant for any inappropriate behaviors, i.e., smoking, drugs and/or alcohol possession or use, threats or physical violence, thievery, and/or weapons. Exhibit non-threatening conflict resolution amidst guest or resident disputes. Enforce program principles and procedures in a spirit of compassion and respect (Eph.4:1-3, 7). Document any and all corrective actions; filing where designated, and routing copies when appropriate.
MAINTAIN A SAFE AND SECURE PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Manifest vigilance in helping to prevent any accidents, acts of violence and/or any crisis situations from occurring. Note any hazards or potentially hazardous situation by either correcting that situation or referring the issue on to the Program Supervisor for follow-up. Notify appropriate local emergency personnel (medical, mental health, law enforcement, fire department, etc.) when needed; calling Program Supervisor as indicated in program call procedure. Defuse and/or refer all incoming crisis telephone calls; documenting for follow-up.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly Recovery Program staff meetings. Attend any internal/external trainings, staff meetings, or seminars as suggested by Program Supervisor. Attend weekly supervisory meetings with Program Supervisor. Attend any required first aid, CPR, and/or fire safety trainings as scheduled by Human Resources. Assist residents with educational needs and computer learning skills. Supervise functions needed in preparation for daily cleaning. All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL FACTORS
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing for extended periods of time. Occasional bending, twisting, lifting, moving and walking.

SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Take every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents. Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors. Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors. Ensure actions and policies reflect the Christian values and purpose of the Mission. Handle relational conflicts according to the Staff Covenant of Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15-19 Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values. Participate in corporate prayer and Scripture reading, staff chapel services, and all spiritual gatherings. Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ. Participate in annual spiritual growth training through organization selected curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must demonstrate compassion toward the poor, needy, and homeless. Must manifest Christian character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc. Must display respect, gentleness, and accountability when interacting with the crisis guests and recovery program residents. Must be teachable and function as a team player. Must engage in safe and healthy work practices, both on the premises and off-site facilities. Must take an active part ensuring the safety, health and well-being of all staff, volunteers, and Mission guests. J03 license required within 90 days of hire.
