The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and homelessness in the greater Fort Wayne area. With the help of over 900 trained volunteers, its programs provide food, rent/utilities, transportation, home repairs, clothing, and furniture to vulnerable families throughout Northeast Indiana. The mission of SVdP is to create a more just world through personal relationships and service to people in need. With a foundation rooted in faith, compassion, and justice, they bring hope and encouragement to thousands of individuals every year.Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, strategic Program Director to oversee and coordinate our district programs and support the efforts of our dedicated volunteers. The Program Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all program activities. This position involves a combination of leadership, direct service oversight, program management, and community collaboration. The person in this role will work closely with the Executive Director as a key member of the leadership team.Key Responsibilities:
1.Program Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of programs and services that support individuals and families in poverty, ensuring programs are impactful and aligned with the strategic plan, mission, and values of SVDP.
- Supervise program volunteers and staff, including recruiting/hiring, training and mentoring as needed to maintain a collaborative and supportive culture.
- Develop and maintain program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability of program activities.
- Establish and maintain program policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with state regulations, safe environment policies, and National SVdP guidelines.
- Ensure that faith-based principles and spiritual support are integrated into programs, fostering an environment of hope and empowerment.
Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local Catholic parishes, other faith-based organizations, service providers, community leaders, and stakeholders to increase program visibility and effectiveness.
- Represent the organization at meetings with community partners, conferences, and events to advocate for the needs of individuals and families in poverty.
- Cultivate a network of volunteers, donors and supporters to enhance the reach and impact of programs.
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
- Establish and implement metrics for tracking program outcomes, ensuring programs achieve measurable results.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on a regular basis to track program demographics and participants served.
- Assist volunteers with the operation and implementation of the district-wide client database, ensuring consistent data across chapters.
- Provide relevant data and success stories to assist the Executive Director and the Development Coordinator in the development of grant proposals, reports, and donor communications.
- Regularly assess program effectiveness, making recommendations for optimization, improvements, adjustments, and expansion.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Social Justice, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a nonprofit or social service setting. Experience in community outreach and/or working with individuals in poverty is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies Strong leadership and supervisory skills with an excellent work ethic and the ability to inspire and motivate volunteers and staff.
- Faith and Values A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the Society of St.
Job Schedule:
- In person at first with future options for hybrid work.
- Work hours typically Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
- Limited travel (mostly in Allen County and surrounding counties) may be required.
