Resident Advisor Job Description Our Mission:
To provide emergency shelter and resources for single homeless women, regardless of their faith, in an environment that respects their dignity as human persons, affords them the opportunity to live individually and collectively with others in a safe environment of self-government, and empowers them to network with local businesses and social services for employment and self-sufficiency.

Part-time, Every Other Saturday & Sunday 12a - 8a Responsible for: Maintaining the peace and safety of the shelter, ensuring the schedule is implemented and followed and processing new intakes. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities required: Experience in Social Work or related field or equivalent experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a variety of computer applications, specifically the MS Office Programs & internet applications. Willingness to engage with diverse residents in a positive and supportive manner. Rapid comprehension and ability to quickly learn policies and procedures. Standard office activity associated with attending meetings within the organization and meeting external constituents, lifting objects in an office context, and ability to climb stairs or walk moderate distances. Extended periods of time working on the PC.
Summary of essential job functions:
Complete intakes for all new guests. Provide crisis intervention Ensure the peaceful enjoyment of the shelter Conduct house meetings as needed. Keep accurate records, information, and notes for regulations, agency policies and funding sources. Complete hourly walk-thru's of the shelter. Ensure the daily schedule is implemented and followed. Ensure the shelter is clean and sanitized. Complete assigned cleaning duties. Assist in meal prep. This description is not intended to be a limited list of assignments and allows for additions and changes as deemed necessary to provide quality care for the guests of Josephine's Place.
