Job Description
Position Overview The Robotics Camp Program Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Robotics in Manufacturing Summer Camps. This role is responsible for ensuring a high-quality, engaging experience for students while overseeing daily operations, managing camp counselors, and coordinating logistics across multiple locations. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and hands-on problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage both people and equipment in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Program Management & Execution Oversee all aspects of Robotics Camp programming across multiple sites Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of curriculum and student experience Lead daily camp operations, including scheduling, transitions, and troubleshooting Monitor student engagement, safety, and overall camp environment Staff Leadership & Training Recruit (if applicable), train, and supervise camp counselors Conduct pre-camp training sessions prior to May 25 Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance feedback to staff Ensure counselors are prepared to lead stations (Spheros, MicroBits, 3D printing, etc.) Curriculum & Lesson Preparation Prepare and organize lesson plans and materials prior to camp start Ensure all camp activities align with STEM and manufacturing concepts Adapt activities as needed to meet student age ranges (Grades 1-7) Logistics & Equipment Management Coordinate transportation of equipment and materials to various camp sites Set up and tear down camp stations at each location Maintain inventory and ensure proper use and care of equipment Troubleshoot technical or equipment-related issues as they arise Communication & Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for camp sites and partners Communicate regularly with Greater Lafayette Commerce staff Ensure clear communication with counselors, volunteers, and site coordinators ________________________________________ Qualifications Experience in program management, education, camps, or youth programming Strong leadership and team management skills Experience with STEM, robotics, or hands-on learning environments preferred Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple locations and logistics simultaneously Comfortable transporting equipment and materials (lifting, loading/unloading required) Excellent communication and problem-solving skills ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics platforms (Sphero, MicroBits, 3D printing, etc.) Background in education, engineering, manufacturing, or STEM-related fields Previous experience managing summer camps or youth programs ________________________________________ Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to lift and transport equipment between sites Reliable transportation required Availability during full program duration (mid-May through July 17) Flexible schedule, including prep time prior to camp start ________________________________________ Why Join Us?
