Public Health Academic Excellence Work Location Lexington, KY Salary Range $15.00 per hour Type of Position Student Position Time Status Part-Time Required Education None Required Related Experience None Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 25lbs, walking with weight, sitting and standing for long periods. Ability to work outside in adverse conditions such as heat. Shift Flexible schedule; Based on 4H camp needs. Student will be working more during the week of 4H camp onsite, as well as remotely prior to and after camp. Job Summary The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is partnering with the UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment to support 4-H Summer Camp, and we're looking for a dynamic public health student to join us! This unique internship offers the chance to experience 4-H camp firsthand while helping shape future programming. The selected intern will attend camp sessions, support engaging, hands-on activities, and develop creative content that may be used to enhance future 4-H experiences. As a 4-H Public Health Intern, you will: Assist with interactive, youth-focused programming at camp Collaborate with 4-H Agents and campus partners Design and test new activities and content for campers Gain experience in program planning, communication, leadership, and evaluation This is a great opportunity for a student interested in community engagement, youth development, One Health, and the intersection of public health and agriculture. You'll see the impact of 4-H in action while building real-world skills and contributing your own ideas. Come be part of something meaningful, fun, and impactful this summer! Student will be responsible for their own transportation to/from the camp, but may be reimbursed mileage. Student will stay onsite at camp but will not be in a cabin with campers. Background check is required for all interns working with 4H campers.

/ Abilities Interest in public health, community engagement, and/or youth programming Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team Willingness to engage with youth in a fun, energetic, and supportive environment Creativity and openness to trying new ideas and activities Basic organizational and time management skills Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, camp setting Interest in learning about program planning, evaluation, and/or content development Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Current University of Kentucky student.
