- $67,517 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Program development Master's degree Databases Driver's License Bachelor's degree Public health Productivity software Full Job Description PPCL Resource Specialist Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) is hiring a full time Resource Specialist who will be responsible for developing and maintaining the program's resource and referral information and ensuring the Provider-to-Provider Consultation Line is able to give support to pediatric and perinatal providers statewide in linking patients and families to the appropriate behavioral health services and community supports.
The Provider-to-Provider Consultation Line provides consultation, training, and resource and referral support to perinatal and pediatric providers across the State of Louisiana to build workforce capacity to recognize and respond to the mental health needs of children and pregnant/postpartum persons and their families. The Resource Specialist is a key member of the PPCL team and will engage in various program and outreach activities to ensure the program meets its strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master's degree in social work, counseling, public health, or equivalent field plus two years of social service (or related field) experience.
- A baccalaureate degree plus four years' experience in social services, public health, or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
Candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Preference will be given to those candidates who have training and experience in pediatric and/or perinatal mental health and/or experience working in a primary healthcare setting.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain a database of mental health resources and other community supports that can be given to consulting pediatric and perinatal providers who are seeking referral resources for their patients. Each resource should be verified at least annually.
- Network with community and state partners to identify mental health and community resources across the state and to disseminate information about PPCL and its services.
- Participate in program outreach activities.
- Identify the referral pathways by which patients can access mental health and community resources and communicate these pathways to consulting providers and to PPCL team members.
- Participate regularly in community-based meetings to stay current on new and evolving resources across various regions of the state.
- Participate in and contribute to educational offerings for providers (ECHO training sessions, informational sessions, etc.
- Accurately complete all program documentation (consultation request form, consultation notes, outreach tracking form) and administrative tasks.
- Actively contribute to program development and quality improvement efforts.
Location:
Domiciled in Region 4 (office located in Lafayette) or in Region 1 (office located in New Orleans). Occasional statewide travel for meetings and outreach activities.
