Job Description

Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and safety of the program with the goal of helping clients secure effective case management and supportive services. Responsibilities include data collection and entry designed to maximize housing flow into affordable housing for homeless women in the Metro-West region, ensuring successful client placements into housing and the coordination of appropriate supportive services Why Work for SMOC?

Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the program/department to include: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals. Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management. Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy. Schedule and supervise the program staff to ensure appropriate coverage of the program. Develop and update all program forms, informational materials, and policies and procedures as needed. Assist Component Director with on-going program design and quality management and assurance. Routinely audit case files to ensure all required program documentation is maintained. Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work. Attend & participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas. Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements. Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as SMOC policies & procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 4 years supervisory experience, preferably with skilled and unskilled staff. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. Availability for on-call responsibilities during off hours. Prior work with homeless population.
Organizational Relationship:
Directly reports to Component Director, CGRC. Direct reports to this position are shelter staff.
Physical Requirement:
Ability to drive. Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
Working Conditions:
As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Program Manager will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required. Monday through
Friday:
9:00AM - 5:00PM. Includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. 35 Hours per week.
