Extended Day Program Program Schedule:
  • Before School Program:
    Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM
  • 8:45 AM
  • After School Program:
    Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM
  • 6:00
PM Important Requirement:
  • Applicants must be available to begin work at 6:45AM and/or 3:30 PM for the after-school Smart Start Extended Day program.
  • Applicants must have experience working needing 1:1 support.
Job Description:
This position involves supporting students with exceptional learning needs who are participating in the Smart Start Extended Day before and/or after-school program. Staff members will assist in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that promotes positive student engagement and social-emotional growth. Qualifications
  • Successful school-based experience working with elementary students
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required within two months of start
  • Experience working with SPED students preferred
  • Preference will be given to support staff working in a special needs classroom Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Maintain a safe, structured snack time at the beginning of the program by meeting students in the cafeteria and organizing snack distribution 2.Attend one 30-minute meeting per week, as needed 3.Support teachers' implementation of lessons and activities 4.Interact positively with students to promote self-esteem and positive values 5.Work collaboratively with staff members to create a safe and enriching learning environment 6.Utilize the SOMROLI payroll system to check in/out each shift and maintain accurate work hour records 7.Perform additional duties as assigned by site supervisors and/or district coordinators
