Mobile Educator —
Brushstrokes of Hope Hammar's Studios Service Area:
Merrimack Valley /
Greater Lowell, Massachusetts Position Type:
Full-Time Work Setting:
Approximately 60% offsite Position Overview Hammar's Studios is seeking an energetic, dependable, and engaging Mobile Educator to join our Brushstrokes of Hope team. This position plays an important role in delivering our grant-funded youth programming throughout the Merrimack Valley and Greater Lowell region. The Mobile Educator will spend approximately 60% of their time traveling to schools, youth organizations, municipalities, and community partner locations to provide direct programming to youth. The remaining time will be based at Hammar's Studios and dedicated to program preparation, training, meetings, documentation, curriculum support, and creative reinforcement activities. The ideal candidate has significant experience working with youth in a classroom or structured group environment and is confident leading and engaging groups of students. An art background is not required , although experience with visual arts, creative programming, or hands-on activities is a definite bonus. Key Responsibilities Deliver Brushstrokes of Hope programming at schools, community organizations, youth-serving agencies, and other partner locations throughout the service area. Facilitate REAL Essentials® Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) and Positive Youth Development lessons in an engaging, age-appropriate manner. Create a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages participation, discussion, reflection, and skill development. Utilize strong classroom-management techniques to maintain student engagement and effectively manage groups of youth. Maintain fidelity to the approved curriculum and program model while creating an engaging and approachable learning environment. Facilitate creative and art-based reinforcement activities associated with Brushstrokes of Hope programming. Prepare curriculum materials, supplies, student resources, and art materials before traveling to program sites. Transport program supplies and equipment using a personal vehicle . Regularly load and unload supplies , transport materials into partner locations, and set up and break down program materials before and after sessions. Complete required program documentation, including attendance, dosage tracking, surveys, and other grant-related data collection. Communicate professionally with school personnel, community partners, youth-serving organizations, and Hammar's Studios team members. Participate in staff training, curriculum training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development. Assist with program preparation, organization, inventory, and other Brushstrokes of Hope activities while working from Hammar's Studios. Support program quality, consistency, and compliance with grant and partner-site requirements. Qualifications Significant classroom, teaching, youth-programming, or youth-group experience required. Experience confidently managing and engaging groups of children or teens. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable facilitating structured curriculum and leading group discussions. Dependable, organized, adaptable, and able to work independently while traveling between program locations. Ability to follow established curriculum requirements and maintain program fidelity. Experience with visual arts, creative education, or hands-on programming is a plus, but not required . Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for regular work-related travel. Must maintain appropriate automobile insurance and meet applicable employer and partner-site requirements. Ability to safely carry, load, unload, set up, and break down program supplies and equipment , including lifting approximately 30 pounds . Must successfully complete applicable background screening and requirements for working with youth. Travel & Transportation This is a mobile position , and regular travel throughout the Merrimack Valley/Greater Lowell service area is an essential component of the role. The employee will use their personal vehicle to transport themselves and program materials to participating schools and community partner sites. Approved work-related mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with Hammar's Studios policy and applicable grant requirements. About Brushstrokes of Hope Brushstrokes of Hope is Hammar's Studios' grant-funded youth development program that combines structured, evidence-informed education with engaging creative experiences. Through the REAL Essentials® curriculum , Positive Youth Development strategies, discussion, reflection, and art-based reinforcement, the program helps young people strengthen communication, decision-making, healthy relationships, boundary-setting, goal-setting, and other important life skills.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $62,800.00 per year
