Jobs › Holyoke, MA › Domestic Violence Advocate Alianza DV Services Domestic Violence Advocate Holyoke, MA Apply HOLYOKE Domestic Violence Advocate The Domestic Violence Advocate provides flexible, participant-centered support across multiple programs to ensure consistent and trauma informed services for individuals accessing organizational resources. This role includes crisis hotline response, shelter services, community-based advocacy, housing assistance, group facilitation, and participant transportation. The Domestic Violence Advocate must be adaptable, professional, and committed to trauma-informed, participant-centered practices while responding to dynamic program needs. Essential duties and responsibilities in person and/or remote: Respond to crisis hotline calls, by conducting intake assessments and providing immediate support, safety planning, and appropriate referrals. Support shelter residents with daily needs, advocacy, and emotional support. Deliver community-based advocacy, including case management, referrals, and follow-up support. Assist participants with housing services, including housing navigation, application assistance and landlord coordination Coordinate services that include rapid rehousing support, serving program participants and individuals who are experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. Provide transportation for participants and residents during in-person shifts and while covering the backup phone Carry and respond to the backup hotline phone during assigned shifts, including after regular work hours. Facilitate and co-facilitate support groups using trauma-informed, empowerment-based approaches. Maintain accurate and timely documentation while ensuring participant confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external community partners. Provide coverage across programs and locations as requested by management.

Work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating the ability to operate independently as required.Desired skills and qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required). High school diploma or GED required; Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in advocacy, crisis intervention, shelter services, or related human services work preferred. Completion of (or willingness to complete) training in crisis intervention and advocacy-related services. Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations independently and provide in-person response when required. Experience facilitating or co-facilitating support groups preferred. Knowledge of housing resources, public benefits, and housing stabilization programs preferred. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and organizational standards. Valid driver\'s license, reliable transportation, and ability to transport participants as needed.
