Special Education Program Specialists
Positions:
Physical Therapists (1) Speech Therapist/Assistants (6) Occupational Therapists/COTA (4)
Dates of Employment:
20 days
  • Students attend July 6
  • July 31 4 hours per day Monday-Friday (time TBD
  • mornings) includes up to 20 hours (5 days) of curriculum classroom prep and professional development prior to program start (June 29-July 3)
Qualifications:
Certification in field (Speech, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy) Master's degree from an accredited college or university At least five (5) years successful experience as Specialist preferred
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with ESY staff to provide support and professional consultation on integrating students with special needs into the summer school program. Provide instruction and/or assistance to special education students incorporating curricula and objectives that extend the regular school day curriculum and meet the Individualized Education Program of said students. Plan lessons/activities/accommodations as required and/or necessary. Provide student's opportunities to interact socially with other students in a variety of academic and enrichment programs.. Report on student progress to Program Administrators, Director of Special Education and Assistant Directors of Special Education Maintain student attendance and student records Complete and submit Progress Reports at the end of ESY Perform such tasks as related to the toals and objectives of the
Extended School Year Programming Salary:
$45.00 hourly per contract
